Columbus Coffee Karolkowa café, located at Karolkowa Business Park office building complex,
200 meters from Warsaw Rising Museum is much more than yet another café in Warsaw.
It is a unique combination of history and modern design - it is a place where the past and present areintertwined.
OUR HISTORY: Philips light bulb factory was built there in 1922 and their first product was a one-wattlight bulb.Between 1939-1944 the factory was taken over by the Germans and, among other things,transmitting- receiving devices for submarines, tanks and aircrafts were manufactured there.After the Second World War the factory was nationalized. In 1949 the construction of lamp factory,which will be later named after Róża Luksemburg, began at the site of the pre-war Philips factory.In 2011 the old factory halls were demolished, but the characteristic elements of factory facade - ten repetitive bays - were left behind. The designers decided to incorporate them into the current facade, which resulted in a unique combination of old red brick elements with modern architecture.
This is the place where Columbus Coffee Karolkowa café is located.
We tried to do our best to pay tribute to the history of this place, which is why the interior of the café boasts many elements alluding to the Philips light bulb factory.
Our customers can see various elements related to the factory in numerous prints that decorate the walls of the café.
Our coffees are prepared on the basis of Columbus Coffee Espresso Blend. It is a one hundred per cent blend of perfectly selected Arabica coffee beans from: Columbia, Brazil and Guatemala. Inspired by classic coffees, we have created the blend having our most discerning customers, who value the flavour and aroma of real espresso and caffè americano, in mind.
Apart from classic and flavoured coffees and delicious teas we also serve freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juice. Every day, seven days a week, we prepare ciabattas, paninis, salads, wraps and toasts on the spot. Thanks to fresh ingredients supplied by local providers we can serve mostly products that have one day shelf life.
We also serve delicious fresh cakes and savoury tarts, which are prepared for us by the best bakeries in Warsaw.
What is more, there is free Wi-Fi available to the customers and a bookcase filled with books. Our smiling baristas will be happy to introduce everyone to the special world of coffee and they will also gladly demonstrate alternative ways of brewing it.
