The oldest restaurant in Warsaw

Magda Gessler – U Fukiera

Located in Rynek Starego Miasta (Warsaw Old Town Market Place), U Fukiera is the oldest restaurant in Warsaw with tradition dating back to the beginning of the 16th century.

The history of the place where Fukier is located dates back to the beginning of the 16th century, when a famous wine merchant Grzegorz Korab built a house and opened a wine shop in its cellars. The Fukier family shows up in chronicles as owners at the beginning of 18th century and becomes famous for their amazing collection of rare and precious wines.

Today “U Fukiera” is a living work of art, created by Magda Gessler. It delights with a harmonious combination of taste, scent, sound and colour, complemented with sophisticated interiors.

Famous politicians, aristocracy from all over the world, artists and journalists are all willingly visiting Fukier in search of distinctive flavours.
Madeleine Albright always dines in Fukier when she visits Warsaw praising the taste of koldunys – small meat dumplings in butter and lovage.

Naomi Campbell was bewildered with beef sirloin tartare and game pate.
Fukier style Polish duck with apples has been a signature dish for many years now and enchanted multiple guests.

Sharon Stone was in awe of the beautiful interior design, the ambience and excellent cuisine.

The secret of Fukier’s special taste lies in produce, not only its legendary quality, but also in its provenance that determines the flavour. All produce come to Fukier from small, organic farms. All that is best in flavour here comes solely from purest superior and exclusive richness of our native produce. Here you will experience Polish ethnic cuisine – on the one hand extremely orthodox, on the other hand enhanced with Magda’s own unbearably southern lightness of living. It is certainly worth to taste such magic.
