Description

Start the tour at your chosen time from your accommodation. Your group is picked up by Retro bus Jelcz 'Cucumber', and a tour guide will introduce you to Warsaw. Your guide will present you the plan of the tour, which includes the most important sights of the city. During the tour, tells you about Warsaw's history and present. On the road, you hear more about the objects you pass by. Your first stop will be Palace of Culture and Science. During a walk the guide will tell you more it and why is it called a symbol of Polish Communism, how it was constructed and what influence it has on modern Warsaw. Next, hop on the bus that will take you to the historic heart of Warsaw. You'll get off the bus to take a stroll down the streets of Old Town. Here, learn about fascinating past of Poland, see the Sigismund's Column and Royal Castle and hear about Polish Royals, their fates and battles they did for the country. Follow to see the Cathedral of St. John and find out about its post-war restoration. Then, in the Old Marketplace. in the middle of this UNESCO-listed site, you see symbol of the city – Warsaw Mermaid. Walk down by the picturesque houses of the Old Town, to reach the Barbican, fragment of the restored city wall, then have a look at the birthplace of Marie Curie, a great Polish scientist. Walking back to the bus, you'll pass by the Warsaw Uprising Monument, an impressive memorial. Here you'll learn more about this WWII event from your guide. Next, the bus takes you to the Royal Park Łazienki. In the upper fragment of the park you'll see the monument of Frederic Chopin, one of the best known Poles, a romantic period composer. Then, the guide will present you the incredible Palace on the Isle, summer residence of the king of Poland, Stanisław August Poniatowski. On the walk through the park, you'll hear stories about turbulent late 18th-century Poland while admiring examples of architecture of that period. After this relaxing stroll in the 'green lungs' of Warsaw, the bus will take you back to your hotel or a requested location within the city.
