Description

Built in 1955, the Palace of Culture and Science riffs off the American art-deco skyscrapers of the same period and today stands as the eighth-tallest building in the European Union. With interiors covered by marble and mosaics, the palace has an opulent atmosphere that is heightened by the light that streams in from gigantic windows. Form your own opinion of the landmark building that has polarized local opinions for decades and get an inside look at a structure with over 3,000 rooms that houses restaurants, a university, theaters, cinemas, offices, concert halls, and even a swimming pool. Your tour will include visits to the Main Hall, City Hall Chamber, Troika Hall, chapel, Copernicus’ Hall, Mickiewicz’s Hall, VIP lounges, Starzyński’s Hall, Warsaw Hall, Broniewski’s Hall, Rudnev’s Hall, and Gothic Hall. Finally, after reaching the terrace on the 30th floor, you will be rewarded with a marvelous view of Warsaw.  After enjoying the view at the Palace of Culture and Science, you will be driven to the nearby Wilanow Royal Palace. Initially constructed in 1677 for King Jan III Sobieski, the palace grew over time to become a magnificent villa surrounded by phantasmal gardens. The residence retains traces of its former residents, which speak to their interests and customs and include a significant collection of artworks. One of Poland's most important historic sites, the palace also houses a museum that documents the country's cultural and artistic heritage. Your tour will include an informative audio guide and allows you to explore the White Hall, statue of Jan III Sobieski, chapel, King’s Library, King’s Bedroom, Grand Vestibule, Queen’s Bedroom, Etruscan cabinet, Paintings Gallery Museum, and Baroque Gardens. In the winter, mapping shows take place on the buildings, while in the summer, concerts and interesting temporary exhibitions are held.
