Description
You will be picked up by your guide from the hotel, and following a 1.5-hour ride you will arrive to Treblinka. Visit the site with a beautiful memorial commemorating hundreds of thousands of victims that passed through the camp, as your guide provides you with historic context to help you understand the events that took place there between 1942 and 1943. The next stop will be in Tykocin, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch in one of traditional restaurants recommended by the guide, and to stroll through this picturesque place. The must-see attractions in Tykocin are its beautiful synagogue and castle. The synagogue was built in the 17th century, before being decorated iinside in the 18th century. You can admire the inscriptions on the walls in Hebrew and Aramaic, and can also admire its beautifully decorated bima. It's a perfect place to discover the rich heritage of the Jewish community that lived for centuries in the east of Poland, which used to be a religious and ethnic melting pot. Another interesting place in Tykocin is its modest museum organized by its people in one of the oldest wooden houses. It exhibits a typical interior of a Polish house in the countryside until the mid 1990s. On the other bank of the Narew River you will discover the castle. The version of the castle you are able to visit today is a faithful reconstruction of Tykocin's castle, which in the 16th century was the main residence of one of the Polish kings. During the visit you will discover different weapons and armor used by Polish knights, and can discover the king's secrets. Following your visit to the castle, the guide will bring you back to Warsaw.Includes
