Description
Start at Żelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Frederic Chopin. Walk through the mansion where he grew up, viewing memorabilia including an original Pleyel piano. From May to September, live piano concerts may be held on Sunday afternoons. The mansion is located by the Utrata River within a scenic park.
Next, visit Brochów to see the fortified red-brick church reconstructed in 1665, a notable example of defensive architecture in Poland. This is where Chopin's parents married and where he was baptized.
In Lowicz, explore Poland’s only triangular market square and visit the 17th-century cathedral alongside the Lowicz Museum, which exhibits wooden sculptures, colorful costumes, and traditional paper cutouts. Traditional folk costumes may be witnessed here.
End with the Maurzyce Ethnographic Park near Lowicz, showcasing authentic 19th-century Polish village life. View well-preserved buildings such as a school, stable, and huts with furnished interiors representing local folklore.
