Description
Did you know that Poland is the largest apple producer in Europe and one of the top producers in the world? Apples are our most beloved fruit, and szarlotka — traditional Polish apple cake — is a dessert you’ll find in almost every home.
We’ll start the workshop with a warm welcome and a fun introduction to some of the most interesting Polish traditions. From surprising customs to small cultural quirks, it’s an easy and enjoyable way to understand the spirit of Poland before we begin baking.
Next, we’ll prepare your own Polish apple cake using simple, authentic ingredients. I’ll guide you through each step in a relaxed, friendly way — no experience needed, just curiosity and good vibes.
While the cake bakes and fills the kitchen with its warm apple-and-cinnamon aroma, we’ll sit down together to enjoy a generous spread of traditional Polish food. You’ll taste homemade or locally sourced sausages, cheeses, pickles, butter, bread and more — a real, cozy Polish-style table full of flavor.
When the szarlotka is ready, we’ll enjoy a warm slice straight from the oven and take a few photos to capture the moment. You’ll leave full, happy, and with your freshly baked Polish apple cake to take home.
The activity takes place in my flat in a green, post-war district of Wola in Warsaw, about 25 minutes from the city center by public transport. It’s easy to reach by tram, bus, metro, or taxi, and detailed directions will be provided after booking. All tools, ingredients, and food are provided — just bring your curiosity and an appetite!
