Description

Your tour will begin at Castle Square, where you will see Sigismund’s Column. Then you will see the magnificent Royal Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the gothic St. Johns Arch cathedral. In the oldest part of the Old Town – the Old Town Market Place you will see the symbol of the Polish capital - The Warsaw Mermaid. Another main stop of your tour located between the Old and the New Town is the Warsaw Barbican that once encircled Warsaw. You will walk past a house where Maria Sklodowska-Curie was born in New Town. Afterward, you will walk along Krakowskie Przedmiescie Street (Royal Route). You will first pass St. Annes Church, the famous center of Warsaw, next to the Castle Square, at Krakowskie Przedmieście. You can climb up its tower to the viewing terrace from which you will see the entire Old Town. Following that, you will see the Presidential Palace, the University of Warsaw, the Copernicus Monument, and the Holy Cross Church, where Frederic Chopin's heart is buried. There are two important Warsaw squares to visit: Pilsudski Square, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Krasinski Square, with the impressive Warsaw Uprising Monument.
