Currently on view:
'In the Very Bowels of Changes: Surrealism and Anti-Fascism' explores the revolutionary and political dimension of surrealism. Featuring works by artists including André Breton, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Leonora Carrington, Władysław Strzemiński, Franciszka and Stefan Themerson, and Teresa Żarnower, the exhibition reveals how surrealism became a powerful artistic response to fascism and a tool for defending freedom.
'Edward Dwurnik: Pride and Shame' offers a new perspective on Edward Dwurnik's art, exploring how pride and shame shaped identity, social hierarchies, and political life in Central and Eastern Europe during the second half of the 20th century. It invites visitors to reflect on how these emotions continue to influence the Europe's political landscape and help explain the rise of contemporary populism.
