Description

Step into the world of cyanotype, one of the oldest photographic techniques, at a welcoming studio in Warsaw. This hands-on workshop invites you to explore the magic of sunlight and chemistry as you create striking blue prints using natural plant patterns. Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll discover how to prepare photosensitive paper, arrange dried plants, and expose your compositions to sunlight, revealing vivid botanical images. The session begins with an introduction to the history and science of cyanotype, followed by a demonstration of each step in the process. You’ll prepare your own paper, experiment with different plant arrangements, and test exposure times to achieve various effects. After exposing your prints, you’ll rinse them in water and watch as the characteristic blue tones emerge. There’s time to select your favorite works and frame them, ready to display at home. Throughout the workshop, all materials are provided, including paper, chemicals, dried plants, tools, and two frames for your finished pieces. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with coffee and sweet treats, and connect with others who share your interest in creative, hands-on experiences. The workshop concludes at the studio, where you’ll leave with at least four original cyanotype prints, safely packaged for transport, and new skills to continue experimenting on your own.
