Description
Depart Warsaw and travel to the Vistula River delta to visit Malbork Castle, founded by the Knights of the Teutonic Order. Explore the castle courtyard, cloisters of the High Castle, and the Summer Refectory where feasts were held. Admire the Gothic architecture of the Grand Masters' Palace in the Middle Castle.
Continue to the historic city of Gdansk. Walk around the Old Town and pass the Coal Market (Targ Węglowy), site of the annual Christmas Market. Visit the Amber Museum inside the former Prison Tower and enter Long Market through the decorated Golden Gate, leading to Green Gate. Experience the medieval atmosphere of Artus Court, once a gathering place for wealthy merchants. See the colorful Dutch House (Dom Holenderski) and Neptune’s Fountain near Artus Court. Visit the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the largest brick church in the world.
