Description
The meeting point is at the Palace of Culture and Science, near the Tourist Information Office. Depart Saturdays at 11:00 AM for a 2.5-hour tour showcasing the Praga district, historically known as Warsaw’s most dangerous area.
Your guide will provide live commentary on the journey, sharing the district’s colorful and sometimes dark history. After crossing the Vistula River, the first stop is a chocolate factory where you will learn about a sweets producer active since the mid-19th century and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.
The tour continues to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inspired by the Roman basilica of St. Paul, and then to the former vodka factory Koneser, discussing its past and current use. You will also visit the Praga “Bermuda Triangle,” known for authentic pre-war architecture, scenic courtyards, and colorful shrines, a favorite film location for directors including Roman Polański.
The tour concludes back at the Palace of Culture and Science.
Transport is by a vintage 1980s Jelcz “cucumber” bus for groups over eight passengers, or a Nysa mini retro bus for up to eight people.
