Description
Poland is one of the largest apple producers worldwide, and szarlotka—a traditional Polish apple cake—is a common dessert found in many homes. This workshop begins with a warm welcome, an overview of the day’s plan, and a short safety briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable in the kitchen.
You will prepare your own szarlotka using simple, authentic ingredients, guided step-by-step in a relaxed environment. No baking experience is needed, just curiosity.
While the cake bakes and fills the kitchen with apple and cinnamon aromas, you’ll learn about interesting Polish traditions, from surprising customs to cultural quirks. During this time, you will also enjoy a generous tasting of homemade and locally sourced Polish foods, including sausages, cheeses, pickles, butter, and bread.
At the end, you take home the freshly baked cake as a souvenir of your experience. The workshop takes place in a private flat in Warsaw’s green, post-war Wola district, about 25 minutes from the city center by public transport. It is easily accessible by tram, bus, metro, or taxi. Detailed directions will be provided after booking.
