Description
The Museum presents the Polish contribution to the victory of the free world over Soviet communism. The exhibition covers the entire Cold War period and uses more than 50 multimedia, such as touch screens, multimedia tables, VR goggles, an autonomous robot and a cinema.
It is the only institution that depicts the rivalry between the two blocs during the Cold War period from a Polish perspective.
The content of the exhibition presents the entire period of the Cold War, including all countries taking part in the fight against the Evil Empire. However, a significant part of it is based on the messages, commitment and deeds of three great figures of the last two decades of the Cold War - President Ronald Reagan, the Holy Father John Paul II and General Ryszard Kukliński.
The dynamic combination of architecture, the history of the place (during the times of the Polish People's Republic, this address housed the comunist militia station where high school graduate Grzegorz Przemyk, a well-known victim of martial law, was beaten to death) and the museum's narrative creates an unforgettable encounter with history, its consequences, victims, aggressors and survivors, who experienced these events and stood up for the truth.
The museum is open to all visitors, both Polish and foreign, of all ages. We also have plenty of attractions for children!
As one of the few museums in Warsaw, four-legged visitors are also welcome to visit us.
Additionally, the Cold War Museum is the first and only museum in Poland to have a robot that serves as an autonomous guide!
